Which is why we’ve included the Harry and Megan series as one of our resources for primary schools. It
is written, produced and performed by AV Assemblies, a team made
up of broadcast professionals who have worked on many BBC Schools and
Children’s TV programmes including Off by Heart (2008 Children’s BAFTA winner),
Together (BBC School Assemblies), Bear Behaving Badly, Zoo Factor etc.
This series of assemblies starts with Ginnie ordering a
computer mouse from The Merthyr Merlin Magical Mouse Co. Megan Mouse jumps through the computer screen to find adventures and to learn
new things about herself, Harry (the dog) and the world around them.
What’s more these assemblies are all
SEAL related, with each video ending with a reflection that fits completely in
with the SEAL criteria. Themes used in the reflections include helping children
to consider what is new in their lives and how they feel about it, why friends
are sometimes unkind to each other and also the excitement of going to new
places.
This series of SEAL based videos for children from all backgrounds was previously featured on assemblies.org.uk but is now available from twelvebaskets on our teachers dozen website in high quality format and without time
limitations.
